REO MISES 2025

A government system supporting Hong Kong’s 2025 election vote-counting process.

Portal, Website

My Role

  • UX/UI design for app used during vote counting
  • UX/UI design for the web-based admin portal
  • Created presentation materials (PPT) for government review and approval
The product had to translate strict electoral procedures into clear, low-error digital flows for non-technical, time-pressured staff while preserving auditability and chain-of-custody records. It also needed to surface real-time station progress and exceptions to administrators and resilience to variable on-site connectivity.
I mapped official procedures into task-based journeys with explicit confirmations and guardrails, standardized components in a bilingual design system, and emphasized legibility for fast data entry. The admin portal introduced role-based views with live status, exception queues, and exportable logs. High-fidelity prototypes and review decks aligned stakeholders and de-risked implementation ahead of UAT.
The design package facilitated smooth cross-department reviews and approval cycles, reduced ambiguity for engineering, and provided a training-ready UI that shortens onboarding and lowers entry errors. The resulting flows and documentation set a clear foundation for reliable operations during the 2025 count.
